My tomatoes are looking well, despite some ill watering habits a week or two ago. I knew it was high time to water them, but I had a wedding to go to three hours away so I decided that I would water them when I got home in the evening. Well I didn't get home until late and forgot, when I got up in the morning, my poor tomatoes were hanging over the sides of their pots looking quite pathetic. I was panicked to the core, because I knew that though I could go to the greenhouse and buy tomatoes starts it would be highly unlikely that there would be any purple russians or pineapples, which I am looking forward to with great anticipation. I was late for church but I took time to quick dump lots of water on them. I was very relieved when I returned home to find their roots had lapped up all of the water and most of them were standing up a little straighter. Now they seem to be fully recovered minus a few who didn't make it, but as anyone who knows my habits, knows I always start more than I need anyways and end up with more plants than I know what to do with. Right now all I can think of is Psalm 42:1 "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God." and that it could be rewritten, "As Kristin's tomatoes pant for streams of water,...."
One more thing before I finish this post, here are a couple of shots of the peas in my porch pot....which come to think of it, I really need to water. One from a couple of weeks ago and one from tonight. I will let you determine which is which.
